Maureen Benjamins, PhD
Senior Research Director
Maureen Benjamins, PhD, Interim Director of SUHI, is a Co-Principal Investigator for the Sinai Survey. She joined SUHI in 2005 to evaluate data from the Jewish Community Health Survey. She co-authored a book published in 2010, Urban Health: Combating Disparities with Local Data, that describes initiatives resulting from the first Sinai Community Health Survey. Dr. Benjamins has helped lead several institute-wide initiatives to study disparities in Chicago, including the Sinai Health System's community health needs assessments in 2013.
Jana Hirschtick, MPH
Epidemiologist III
Jana Hirschtick, MPH, is an epidemiologist at SUHI and the project director and Co-Principal Investigator for the Sinai Survey. She joined SUHI in 2010 to oversee an evaluation capacity building project for community-based organizations implementing obesity prevention programs. Jana is also a Co-Principal Investigator for a multi-center study to improve health outcomes for individuals with sickle cell disease in Chicago.
Pamela Roesch, MPH
Epidemiologist II
Pam joined SUHI in March 2017 to assist with the dissemination of findings from the Sinai Community Health Survey 2.0. In addition, she helps manage SUHI’s relationship with Chicago Medical School, directing SUHI’s summer and year-long internship programs for CMS students. Pam is also helping support the NIH-funded Improving Sickle Cell Care in Adolescents and Adults in Chicago (ISAAC) project, which aims to address the unique health needs of individuals living with sickle cell disease in the city.
Kristin Monnard, MPH
Program Manager
Kristin Monnard is a project manager for the Sinai Survey. She joined the Sinai Urban Health Institute in 2015 as a program manager specializing in community health assessments and qualitative data collection.

The Survey Research Laboratory is a division of the University of Illinois at Chicago's College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs that provides survey research services from initial study design through data analysis.
